The position will report to the Arapaho Language Director, Wind River Family and Community Health Care System. The Division of Early Childhood Healthy Care and Development will enable the utilization of Arapaho Culture and Language as a component of viable health promotion and prevention. The Teacher Assistant will implement the most current and effective approaches in early childhood learning through immersive tribal language and culture in the child care and early learning services offered by WRFCHCS. This approach is designed to reduce health disparities and address the social determinants of health.
The Teacher Assistant is responsible for the development and delivery of an immersive early childhood learning center that promotes health and child development and revitalization of the Arapaho language among the children. The Teacher Assistant will work a team-based approach for assisting the child care and early learning center administrators/supervisors/staff and as their work/services and the services offered by and through WRFCHCS. The Arapaho Language Teacher Assistant position is responsible for assisting the Teacher with the development and implementation of a quality preschool language immersion education program. This position requires the Arapaho language to be spoken exclusively at all times to the children.
Assist the Head Teacher with all preschool language immersion program including:
Ensure to only speak the Arapaho language to the children attending the program
Interact with children throughout the day through the Arapaho language
Carry out all classroom activities in accordance with curriculum adapted for the immersion program
Guide children in a positive manner
Know the procedures to follow in case of an emergency
Present audio, visual aides and other materials to the children
Help idle children find an activity
Help children with their activity
Encourage children to sit and behave properly
Assist if necessary, in serving lunch and snacks to the children
Help children wash hands and take care of toilet needs
Keep the room orderly, clean, and safe
Plan, coordinate, implement, chaperone field trips, outings, and nature walks in conjunction with curriculum activities
Be responsible for the safety and physical well-being of the children at all times
File and record weekly records for each child’s language development on the “Language Development Record Sheet”
File and schedule evaluations for each student and keep child’s file updated
Attend and participate in all in-services, staff meetings, and parent council meetings
Offer input to Director, and or Curriculum Materials Developer regarding activities and materials for the classroom
Perform laundry duties associated with classroom and student needs
Assist with Transportation when Teacher is unavailable
Food handling, preparation, cooking and serving as needed
Cross train in all positions creating a team environment, and fill when needed
Other duties as assigned to maintain and enhance the operation of the department.
Must have the ability to work with fluent teachers
Must be prompt and reliable with good communication skills
Must be willing to learn the Arapaho Language with a goal of becoming a fluent speaker

Conducts nutritional assessment and provides Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) based on disease process, using the Nutrition Care Process (NCP). Disease processes may include but are not limited to prediabetes, diabetes, gestational diabetes, diabetes during pregnancy, adult obesity, childhood obesity, malnutrition, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.
Provides diabetes nutrition counseling/education to the patients and their families that are consistent with cultural, social, and physiological requirements.
Works with the diabetes educator/coordinator for each facility in coordinating services aimed at reducing the incidence of diabetes, assists in maintaining the diabetes registry assuring all data is current and accurate, analyzes and interprets diabetes data, compiles diabetes-related reports including diabetes audit and cost and care report.
Responsible for educating diabetic patients about disease, process, management, complications, and treatment using the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES).
Assist the diabetes educator/coordinator in coordinating all preventive care for the diabetic patients, including, but not limited to annual labs, EKG, retinal eye exams, dental exams, etc.
Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify the supervisor or primary care provider (PCP) of the patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents of in-person visits.
Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by the PCP including patient and family instruction.
Participates in department or WRFCHC quality improvement activities as needed.
Keep up with or contribute to the latest food and nutritional science research.

The provider will be a part of a rotation pool to staff weekend and evening shifts at our clinic in Riverton. The provider can expect to work an average of 6-8 shifts per calendar year and serve as back-up or “on-call” an average of 2-3 weekends per year. Shifts are Friday through Monday, 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Purchased Referred Care (PRC) Director will oversee the PRC department to provide support and technical assistance to Administration on matters involving PRC including medical, surgical, dental, hospital, and clinical services to all eligible beneficiaries in conjunction with or in lieu of services performed at local Tribal healthcare facilities. The Family Advocate will work directly with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, mass violence and other types of victimization.
Develop or maintain case plans for each family assigned.
Offer services and referrals from community partners, coordinating and accompanying victims and families to medical exams and court, attending any meetings the victims or family may request advocate support at and acting as a liaison between members of the MDT and child victims and their family.
Work with partner agencies to refer families to additional services as deemed appropriate, such as housing, healthcare, counseling, and educational resources.
Ensure that all assigned individuals or families receive equitable services through case coordination, direct victim services, and by educating partner agencies on evidence based, best practices when working with families in crisis.
Track and maintain all records of interactions and services provided by all involved agencies for each individual being assisted.
Communicate across systems to effectively coordinate services between WRFCHCS and entities serving the Wind River Reservation as pertaining to victims.
Work under stressful situations and must be highly motivated to ensure the highest possible quality of care to all victims regardless of age, sex, or sexual identity.
Educate community members on the topic of child abuse and victimization to include courses, classes, training, and any other events when invited to speak on the topic with supervisor approval.
Complete 40 hours of Victim Assistance Training and 8 hours of additional training every 2 years.

The Licensed Substance Abuse Provider provides professional services to individuals and groups with substance use disorders; these persons may practice independent of supervision, unless provisionally licensed, in which case they will be assigned a clinical supervisor. Interviews clients and families to complete an assessment tool such as Addiction Severity Index (ASI) and will develop an individualized treatment plan

Clinical supervision of Certified Addiction Practitioner (CAP) and Certified Addiction Practitioner Assistants (CAPA), acting as a mentor, if Licensed;

The Substance Abuse Technician is responsible for the direct supervision of the residents in the Transitional Home. Substance Abuse Technicians will provide a safe, trauma informed, supportive environment for all residents.
Accurately report incidents or any behavior that includes significance on provided forms.
Assists and supervises clients with preparation of meals, scheduling appointments, chores, community service and other activities such as providing transportation as needed.
Communicate difficulties and/or concerns regarding client’s behaviors to the supervisor as appropriate.
Conduct alcohol and drug screening in conjunction with visits and employment as well as compliance room checks and inspection of all resident’s property.
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations including certifying agency standards.
Completes paperwork requirements to maintain quality, up-to-date records, including progress notes and other relevant information, enter the necessary information into the electronic health care record (EHR) system. ACCUCARE
Maintain professional standards of conduct, and model positive recovery type behavior.
Adhere to NAADAC Code of Ethics, as well as policies and procedures.
Attend all mandatory training and staff meetings.
Provide coverage assistance to co-workers to ensure supervision of residents at all times.
Other duties as assigned to maintain and enhance the operation of the Department.
Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalency, prefer 1 year of experience working with substance abuse clients.
Must have 2 years of continuous sobriety from drugs and/or alcohol.
Basic knowledge of substance abuse and recovery.
Must possess a valid driver license and meet insurance standards and maintain insurability under WRFCHCs insurance program.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check under the Indian Child Protection Act and Family Act (P.L.101-630).
Current BLS Certification or must be able to obtain it within 60 days of hire.
