The Public Health Nursing department offers services to the community including Maternal-Child Health, Public Health Nursing, Community Health Representatives and Community Health Education.

The mission statement of the Public Health Nursing Department is:

The WRFCHC Public Health Nursing will serve the Northern Arapaho Tribe and other members of Federally recognized tribes through education, prevention, planning, and community involvement throughout the lifespan improving the health status of our community.

Beyeihi’ Home Visiting: Wind River Family and Community Healthcare is in the development phase of providing home education services via our Tribal MIECHV grant. Home educators will be providing an evidenced based curriculum to expectant mothers and families with children aged birth to 5.

Community Health Representatives: Wind River Family and Community Healthcare employs community health representatives (CHRs) who work closely with community members to promote health and wellness. CHRs are members of the community who are trained to provide health education and outreach, connect community members with healthcare services, and advocate for the health needs of the community.

Community Health Education: Wind River Family and Community Healthcare offers a range of health education programs that are designed to empower community members to take control of their health. These programs cover a range of topics, from nutrition and physical activity to chronic disease management and mental health.

 

Maternal-Child Health Nurses: The Maternal-Child Health (MCH) team is a highly specialized team consisting of registered nurses and CHRs. The services provided by the MCH team are case management of the prenatal and postpartum patients, labor and delivery education, assistance with social support.

Public Health Nurses: Wind River Family and Community Healthcare employees specialized registered nurses (RNs) that provide community based services for homebound patients, community education, vaccination event hosting, screening, and monitoring of infectious diseases to aid in the mitigation strategy of Wind River Family and Community Healthcare. Our Public Health Nursing team is a vital element to the holistic care of Wind River Family and Community Healthcare.
