JOB SUMMARY:

This position serves as a support member of the nursing team at the Wind River Family and Community Health Care System.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Completes tasks that are clerical in nature and provides technical support to the medical and nursing staff.
Provides patient care within the CNA scope of practice as per policy.
Monitor vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, pain assessment, weight, height, and records as appropriate in EHR.
Obtains lab results, x-ray reports, operation reports, discharge summaries for follow-up visits to expedite patient visit, often involves calling/faxing other clinics or hospitals for provider review.
Stocks supplies exam rooms and cleans exam rooms between patients to ensure room cleanliness and availability.
Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment as needed.
Answers telephone takes messages and provides the medical provider, or nurse with appropriate information when needed for continuity of care.
Actively participates in clinical nursing staff meetings, required competencies, annual trainings, clinic flow, projects assigned, and activities.
Communicates with patients, families, and team members to ensure the occurrence of effective therapeutic interventions, and to ensure safe patient care.
Maintains knowledge of information management concepts (Health Records) and effectively participates in implementing the information management principles and maintains security and confidentiality of data and information.
Other duties as assigned to maintain and enhance the operation of the department.


QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED.
Current certification for a Nursing Assistant from an accredited program.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check under the Indian Child Protection Act and Family Act (P.L.101-630).
Supporting certification such as BLS and other necessary competencies (e.g., ACLS, TNCC, PALS etc.) or obtain within 60 days of hire.
