Wind River Family & Community Health Care is seeking applicants for the position of Patient Transport Driver. Wind River Family & Community Health Care provides ambulatory health care for the service population of the Wind River Reservation. The Patient Transport Driver serves as a member of the transportation team in the entire Wind River Reservation area, based at the Wind River Family & Community Health Care Center, located in Arapahoe, Wyoming.
The candidates’ primary responsibility is to transport patients to and from the WRFCHC Clinic, diabetes centers, dialysis centers, White Buffalo Treatment Center, their private homes and any other necessary locations directly related to health care in a safe and professional manner. The drivers will be responsible for keeping the vehicles and equipment clean and well maintained, ensuring that the vehicle has all necessary supplies, completion of shift forms notifying the dispatch office of any changes in shift schedule or patient care and maintaining an acceptable code of ethics.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Transporting patients in a safe and professional manner following State and Federal laws and regulations
Communicates with dispatch in order to receive relevant data and instructions
Maintains professional behavior and attitude in regards to customers, visitors and co-workers
Completion of vehicle maintenance inspection prior to daily vehicle usage for safe and comfortable patient transport
Reporting needed vehicle maintenance immediately to vehicle manage
Weekly cleaning of assigned vehicle
Assist with transferring and balancing patients
Capable of understanding and following directions, and the ability to read and use maps, both paper and electronic
Current CPR and First Aid Certification
Current and valid State of Wyoming drivers’ license
Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening
Must be insurable: i.e. no DWUI convictions within the last five years
Provide a current 10 year DMV printout for violations
The incumbent must maintain strict confidentiality and high ethical standards in performing the position. The incumbent needs to be respectful, possess cultural awareness and sensitivity, be flexible, and demonstrate sound work ethics.
