Wind River Family & Community Health Care is seeking applicants for the position of Radiology Technologist. Wind River Family & Community Health Care provides ambulatory health care for the service population of the Wind River Reservation. The Radiology Technologist serves as a member of the Radiology/Laboratory staff of the ambulatory health care clinic located in Riverton, Wyoming.
This position as Radiology Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic x-ray procedures to include, but not be limited to, chest, extremities, spines and skulls according to techniques, charts and policies established within the WRFCHC; receives patients and explains methods of the procedure, positions patients, selects and sets technical factors, sets up and adjusts accessory equipment required; maintains x-ray preventative maintenance program and quality improvement control program as written in the procedure manual.
Participates in x-ray quality improvement to assure quality radiographs.
Maintains proper records and documentation in the above stated areas. Uses proper technique to minimize excessive radiation to the patient and other employees.
Performs quality control and quality assurance procedures on radiographic equipment, x-ray tub, aprons and gloves in accordance with the appropriate guidelines.
Maintains records of these procedures and reports in the x-ray department.
The successful applicant will be required to learn venipuncture, and the performance of waived laboratory testing.
Minimum Required Education and Experience:
A thorough understanding and close knowledge of the principles, theories, techniques, and practices appropriate to radiographic technology, such as can be gained through completion of education and training equivalent to the requirements for an associates degree in applied science of radiography at a recognized college or university. The practical application of these principles, theories, and accepted procedures characteristic of the profession to clinical laboratory work.
Skills in basic operation of computers, either freestanding or attached to clinical laboratory equipment.
Understanding of related disciplines such as microbiology, chemistry, physiology, anatomy, and their relationships to medical technology.
The incumbent must maintain strict confidentiality and high ethical standards in performing the position. The incumbent needs to be respectful, possess cultural awareness and sensitivity, be flexible, and demonstrate sound work ethics.
