A medical technician is part of the foundation of the laboratory staff. They perform tests that give providers valuable diagnostic information about the metabolic condition of their patients.
The ability to interact with patients, providers and clinic staff in a professional manner that includes cultural aspects.
The ability to maintain confidentiality.
The ability to perform necessary calibrations, quality control, instrument maintenance, and testing of analytes.
The ability to maintain all Laboratory Standards (CLIA), Quality Assurance and process improvement.
The ability to be flexible in work location and the flow of the laboratory.
The ability to assist the Laboratory Director and/ or Supervisor with projects that are done to improve laboratory processes.
The ability to mentor, train and supervise ancillary staff performing waived testing.
The ability to understand Infection Control and OSHA.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Associates’ degree or higher preferred.
Military Training that states on DD2214 that they were a Medical Lab Specialist.
One year of experience preferred.
The incumbent must maintain strict confidentiality and high ethical standards in performing the position. The incumbent needs to be respectful, possess cultural awareness and sensitivity, be flexible, and demonstrate sound work ethics.
