Wind River Family & Community Health Care is seeking applicants for the position of Home Educator Supervisor. Wind River Family & Community Health Care provides ambulatory health care for the service population of the Wind River Reservation.
This position serves as a supervisor of the Wind River Family Spirit home visiting and the Wind River Family and Community Health Care System, located at Arapahoe, WY. The incumbent will perform duties under the direction of the Family Spirit Director/ Maternal Child Health Nurse, in support of the Family Spirit Program.
Serve as a supervisor for the Family Spirit Home Visiting Program.
Recruit, train and monitor a team of home visiting staff to ensure quality programming and continuous progress towards goals.
Meet frequently with the Family Health Educators individually and as a team to review case management and facilitate reflective practice.
Coordinate all communication internally and externally about the project.
Represent the Family Spirit Program and the organization’s other programs during community meetings and in-service presentations for community partners and local service providers.
Provide social support and connects participants to other community resources.
Maintains data forms, data entry, charts, schedules, and tracking logs to document outcomes.
Represent the Family Spirit Program and the organizations other programs during community meetings and in-service presentations for community partners and local service providers.
Recognizes and is sensitive to the cultural dimension inherent in the practices of health education in Native American communities.
Ability to communicate and interact in a sensitive and respectful way in the local community.
Travel to other sites for training, meetings, and other duties as needed.
Assist with other organizational activities as needed.
Must maintain strict client confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA standards.
Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED required; (Experience in Home visiting is a must)
Requires basic knowledge of principles and practices required to perform clinical assistant duties to deliver direct patient care to all age groups.
Knowledge of filing and medical terminology is important.
Ability to effectively multi-task.
Ability to operate a wide variety of office and computer equipment.
Ability to drive a project vehicle as needed and to follow guidelines on vehicle use.
Must have a valid Driver's license, and be insurable.
Ability to follow worksite guidelines in regards to work cell phone usage, and must have the ability to work well with others, take direction, and respond positively to feedback.
Knowledge and ability to appreciate cultural differences of the Native American population and their effect on health care delivery to patients and their families.
5-10 years of IHS/CHR experience. 2-4 years experience in Data Entry/medical coding.
1-2 year of supervisory experience

The successful candidate must have strong organizational skills, be efficient and detail oriented, and must be able to work efficiently in an independent setting.
